Unlock your body’s full potential

Auto accidents can be very traumatic both emotionally and physically, and can cause your neck and back muscles to become more and more tight, which results in increasing stiffness, pain, headaches, and an inability to sleep, work and relax. Chiropractic adjustments will not only help to restore proper joint motion, but it will also help reduce inflammation, decrease pain and increase your range-of-motion so that you can sleep better and feel more relaxed.

We’re here on every step of the way

We develop a treatment plan to help the body heal as quickly as possible by taking care of any underlying issues such as: muscle spasms, restricted joint flexibility, and tissue swelling that cause back and neck pain, and the headaches and stiffness that you are feeling. We will prescribe exercises for you to do at home, so you can progressively regain your strength and range-of-motion.

Don’t suffer needlessly. Chiropractic care is excellent at helping your spine move better, allowing you to feel more relaxed, and assuring you that you are on the road to recovery. If you’ve suffered an injury from a car accident, Golden Given Chiropractic can help!

The Importance of Chiropractic Care

The body has an innate ability to naturally heal itself; however, spinal injuries cannot heal well if the spinal joints are not moving properly. When a person’s neck or back is injured, tissue swelling and spasms become prominent and restrict the joint’s ability to move properly. When the spine can’t move properly, your back will continue to get more and more tight, which will result in increasing back pain, stiffness, and headaches. As a result, sleeping and daily activities will be more difficult due to your negative symptoms. Golden Given Chiropractic focuses on restoring motion to joints, which will allows the tissue swelling and spasms to decrease so that you can sleep and move much better. That’s why we provide adjustments not only to help with your pain, but also to improve your range-of-motion and overall health. The joints cannot heal properly if they are not moving how they should.

Frequently Asked Questions

What techniques do you use and why?

Dr. McCourt uses two chiropractic techniques – Gonstead and Diversified. These are both manual adjustive techniques that are performed with the hands. Dr. McCourt uses these techniques because they are great at obtaining and maintaining increased spinal joint range of motion. Increased and more normal joint range of motion promotes better and more complete healing.

What are the Gonstead and Diversified chiropractic techniques?

Dr. McCourt has used the Gonstead and Diversified techniques successfully for 28 years.

Gonstead is a very specific type of adjusting technique that uses x-ray, range of motion testing and systematic analysis to identify spinal issue and then applies very specific adjustments to obtain better joint range of motion.

Diversified technique is a system of adjusting that is more generalized than Gonstead, but works very well early on in a patient’s treatment plan. You can’t always adjust the most serious joint issues initially due to spasms and pain, but a little more general method is of very good use to obtain increased joint range of motion until a thorough, more specific adjustment can be obtained.

Is chiropractic treatment appropriate for children?

Yes. Children respond very well and quickly to chiropractic care in most cases.

What is the “popping” noise sometimes heard during an adjustment?

The popping noise that is heard following an adjustment is the quick release of air bubbles that form in the joint spaces. The reason an “audible pop” is important, is that it lets the treating doctor know that motion between two joints is being obtained. If better range of motion can be obtained, than more healing can take place.

Will you take x-rays and are they safe? What if I'm pregnant?

X-rays are only taken of the injured areas. Current x-rays have very small doses of radiation and the benefits of taking the views far outweigh the risks. If you are pregnant, x-rays will not be taken of the lower back. However, x-rays can still be taken of the neck and upper back with protective measures in place – your belly will be shielded with a lead apron to protect the baby from being exposed to radiation.
